Dear friends,
For California, a state where scarcity of water has long been the central fact of existence, global warming is not just worsening droughts and wildfires. It is also increasing the risk and intensity of powerful storms that blow in from the Pacific and bring pummeling rain and snow.
My story, on the New York Times’s front page, is a look at the very big storm that will someday write a new page in the history of natural disasters in California. The online version of the story is a visual feast: graphics, stunning photos, even some augmented reality.
